Start to "Espoir" Category
With the TMBD, we wanted to address two oversights:
To pay tribute to the peak of the valley, Mont Buet, the Mont-Blanc des Dames, which towers at 3,096 meters and will watch over you for nearly the entire course.
To offer an intermediate distance between 50 km and 90 km, bridging the significant gap between the two.
As for the route, follow the Trail des Frahans course but interrupt your journey just before the final descent to ascend the iconic Criou mountain.
This detour will lead you back to the Giffre River, which you will follow to reach the life base at Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. Get ready to heat up your legs again! A demanding climb awaits, reversing the path skiers take in winter along the Cascades piste. You’ll veer off this track to reach the Chalets de Porte, offering one last stunning viewpoint of Mont Buet.
From there, you’ll only need to "roll out gently" to the finish line, carried by the cheers of the crowd and volunteers all the way through the final loop around the lake!
This course includes off-camber sections, slopes steeper than 35%, areas potentially snowy or very slippery depending on the weather, lapiaz zones, and a section at an altitude of 2,400m. It is essential to ensure that your experience and your physical and mental condition on race day align with the demands of this environment.
