La Montée de Gers (MDG)

A mountain landscape concentrate in just 18 km? With our new course, the ascent to Gers, it’s possible!

From spruce forests to alpine meadows, admire the torrents and waterfalls, and take time to contemplate the stunning Gers basin with its still snow-capped cliffs surrounding the eponymous lake, where you might catch a glimpse of some chamois. But this basin won’t be easily conquered, as you’ll reach it after nearly 900 meters of relentless ascent! The rest of the course, more runnable but dotted with some sharp, challenging climbs along the ridges bordering the Giffre Valley, will reward you with regular scenic views of the southern slopes and summits unfolding before your eyes.

Then, as you make your way down the final, technical descent, you should start to hear the sounds of the finish line... which, like everyone else, you’ll only cross after completing a lap around the lake!

This course includes sections with slopes over 30°, potential snow patches at this time of year, or very slippery areas depending on weather conditions. It’s essential to ensure that your experience, physical and mental state on the day of the event, are in alignment with this challenging environment.
