Online directly by clicking on this link: available at the beginning of November
You can register more than one person with the same email address by checking in the registration form "Check this box to register another person than you".
Or by contacting Alicia: 06 29 46 58 35 or benevole@uthg-trail.com
Registrations will be possible until June 12 online, then until the last moment by contacting Alicia 😊

Where to find information about my assignments ?

It is time-consuming and tedious to complete the job assignments for all volunteers. It is therefore not impossible that you will not have more information until the end of May or beginning of June about your assignments. If you need or want to know sooner, please contact Alicia: 06 29 46 58 35 or benevole@uthg-trail.com
Otherwise, it is Alicia who will contact you by email or telephone to specify your wishes, your availability and to fix your schedule for the event.

In case of problems: Who di i contact ?

If you have any questions about registration or assignments, you can contact Alicia, the volunteer in charge of volunteers: 06 29 46 58 35 or benevole@uthg-trail.com
Once your assignment is definitive, depending on the post, we can give you the contact details of the post manager, who will also be able to give you information on the process.

What equipment should i bring?

The organisation provides specific equipment for each post, but remember to bring all your personal belongings: clothes adapted to mountain conditions, backpacks, water bottle, anything that could be useful to you for the duration of your missions. We will talk about this again once the assignments have been completed so that you have everything you need. And once again, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Accomodation and meals

Meals are provided if the time slots of your missions require it. Don't worry, you won't lack anything: picnics for the mountain posts or meals in the refuge depending on the case, meals prepared by a caterer for all the posts based at the Samoëns leisure centre or in the immediate vicinity.
Accommodation depends closely on the assignments you wish to undertake. You may have to sleep in a refuge, in a tent, on cots outside or inside, during the day or at night 😉 Don't hesitate to talk to us about this if you have particular expectations. We also try every year to offer accommodation in Samoens for those who need it. Depending on the number of volunteers involved, it is often camping, sometimes dormitories. Please let us know when you register if you need accommodation.

Course team

Marker: sporty and good company, you are able to walk fast and safely for a whole day without failing, up to 25 km, and over big differences in altitude. The course marking is done from Monday to Thursday the week before the race in teams of two or three. Good knowledge of the course recommended.

Course setter: on Friday, before the start of the races or the passage of the runners on certain sections on Saturday and Sunday, your mission will be to check the markings in place. Excellent knowledge of the course and good physical condition required.

Closer: in a team of two or three, you will ensure the safety of the last runners at the end of the race, you will accompany them in their adventure while strictly respecting the race regulations. You are equipped with a radio to inform the race headquarters of your progress and in case of problems. You are able to manage withdrawals and remain calm in the event of an emergency or injury. You know the area perfectly and the means of repatriation. You have a great physical and mental shape to support sometimes some states of mind 😉 According to the sections, you can also be brought to unmake the courses (thus envisage a big backpack to carry the flags which you can sometimes leave on certain points of provisioning or signalling).

Signaller: in the mountains or on the road, you ensure the safety of the runners. You are the link on the ground between the race headquarters and the participants. You are patient and like to play cards, especially in the mountains where the posts can last a long time because it is difficult to plan rotations. Depending on the post, you will be required to clock the runners with the tool provided by the timekeeper. You must know how to use a radio and be able to manage withdrawals.

Leisure Centre Team

Number collection: on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, if you like people and have enough smiles under your elbow to welcome the participants. A good knowledge of the event is always a plus to inform them as well as possible.
Refreshment and catering: pros of the service to feed and water the participants and accompanying persons, we need you all weekend, especially during the day but also a little bit at night.

Shop: the association trusts you to run the event shop, which offers textiles and goodies in the trail colours.

Information point: a sense of welcome and excellent knowledge of the event are essential. If you are not completely up to speed, we can give you a little training beforehand, and we will never be far away!

Runners' arrival: you will have to be very careful at this point to welcome runners who have sometimes spent one or two nights outside. On the programme: refreshments, handing out of finishers' prizes and weight-loss bags. Standing, passive and active, you will have to stay focused and adapt to the flow of arrivals.

Supply team

In more or less wild places, in a gym, in front of huts or under a shelter, whatever the conditions, you are ready to take care of the runners and their injuries.

Your tasks: checking in runners, supplying runners with food and drink, managing drop-outs, welcoming accompanying persons, monitoring the markers upstream and downstream, managing time barriers.

Aid station 1: Joux Plane (car access) from Friday evening to Saturday morning

Aid station 2: Mines d'or (car access) from Friday evening to Saturday lunchtime

Aid station 3 : Golèse (on foot, quad or 4x4) from Friday evening to Saturday evening

Aid station 4 : Le Crêt (car access) from Friday evening to Saturday evening

Aid station 5 : Folly (access on foot) from Friday evening to Saturday evening

Aid station 6 : Vogealle (access on foot) from Friday evening to Saturday evening

Aid station 7 : Le Pelly (access by car) from Saturday morning very early to Saturday evening

Aid station 8 : Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval (access by car) from early Saturday morning to late Saturday evening

Aid station : Grenairon (access by foot, quad or 4x4) from Saturday morning to night

Aid station 10 : Les Fonts (access on foot, quad or 4x4) from Saturday morning to night

Aid station 11 : Alfred Wills (access on foot) from Saturday morning to Sunday morning

Aid station 12 : Lac de Gers (access on foot, quad or 4x4) from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning

Logistics team
At the heart of the event, the shadowy posts, those of preparation and logistics. Welcome to the backstage area! Before the event, we will need some small hands to prepare the race numbers and runners' bags, but also some big hands to prepare and distribute the food at the refreshment station, to set up the start/finish sites and to handle the materials. We also count on you or others to leave the sites at the end as they were at the beginning, i.e. clean and tidy 😉
Reasonable and friendly drivers are also needed during the day and night to ensure the shuttle service between the drop-off points and the Samoens leisure centre.
